Acceptable use policy
Last updated October 2026 (template)
This policy lists what you may not do with LayerHop: the website and swap interface, the widget, the API and SDKs, the Telegram bot, the MCP server, and the merchant services (checkout, payment links, invoices and the dashboard). It applies to everyone, and to merchants for everything they sell through LayerHop. It is part of the Terms of use and the Merchant and checkout terms.
Prohibited businesses and activities
You may not use LayerHop for, or to accept payments for:
- Illegal goods and services, including controlled substances, weapons, ammunition and explosives where restricted, stolen goods, counterfeit items and forged documents.
- Sanctions evasion: dealing with people, entities or regions under sanctions maintained by the United States (OFAC), the European Union, the United Kingdom or the United Nations, or helping anyone get around them.
- Fraud and deception: scams, phishing, fake shops, non-delivery schemes, and payments obtained by misleading the payer.
- Money laundering and terrorist financing, including structuring payments to avoid thresholds, moving proceeds of crime, and mixing or layering services meant to hide where funds come from.
- Gambling, lotteries, betting and games of chance for value, unless you hold every licence required where you and your customers are.
- Adult content where it is illegal, and any content involving minors or non-consenting people, anywhere.
- Intellectual property infringement: selling or distributing pirated, counterfeit or otherwise infringing content, software or goods.
- Malware and hacking: malicious software, exploit kits, stolen data or credentials, wallet drainers, and services for unauthorised access to systems or accounts.
- Spam: unsolicited bulk messages, including sending payment links or invoices to people who didn't ask for them.
- Impersonation: pretending to be LayerHop, another business or a person, or using payment pages and invoices to look like someone else.
- High-risk financial schemes: Ponzi and pyramid schemes, guaranteed-return investments, unregistered securities offerings, pump-and-dump schemes, and any regulated financial service you aren't authorised to provide.
- Hate, violence and exploitation: content or services that promote violence, terrorism, human trafficking or exploitation.
Prohibited use of the service itself
- Getting around access controls, rate limits, geo-blocking, wallet screening or test-mode restrictions.
- Attacking, overloading, scraping at abusive volume, reverse engineering for abuse, or probing LayerHop for vulnerabilities without permission. Report security issues to dev@layerhop.com instead.
- Sharing API keys, reselling access without an agreement, or using someone else's keys or account.
- Using LayerHop in a way that breaks the law that applies to you, to your customers, or to the transaction.
Enforcement
We may, at our discretion and without prior notice where the situation calls for it: refuse or stop quoting a route, block wallet addresses, disable payment links, products and invoices, revoke API keys, suspend or close dashboard accounts, and report activity to the authorities where the law requires or allows it. Because LayerHop is non-custodial, we can't seize or freeze funds; enforcement means ending access to the software.
If you think we've made a mistake, write to dev@layerhop.com with the details and we'll take another look.
Reporting abuse
If a payment page, invoice or link that uses LayerHop looks fraudulent or breaks this policy, send the link to dev@layerhop.com. Don't send it funds.
Changes
We may update this policy as laws and risks change. The date at the top shows the latest version.
