Take crypto payments in your Telegram community or bot

Pin a payment link or product link in your channel, or have your bot create a checkout session for each member with their Telegram user id as the reference. The member pays on layerhop.com from their own wallet with any token, and your bot gets a signed webhook when the payment is verified, so it can send the invite link or unlock the service.

How to set it up

Three steps, starting in test mode if you like.

  1. 1

    Sign in to the dashboard

Open dashboard.layerhop.com and sign in with your wallet (no email or password). Turn on test mode to try everything with simulated payments first.

  2. 2

Create a product or call the API from your bot

No code: create a product with a fixed price and share its layerhop.com/buy link. With a bot: POST /v1/checkout/sessions with the price and reference set to the member's Telegram id, then send them the session url.

  3. 3

    Unlock access on the webhook

When checkout.session.completed arrives, read the reference, and let your bot send the invite link or grant the role.

What works today, and what doesn't

So you know before you sign up.

Works today

  • Links open the hosted payment page, which works with mobile EVM and Solana wallets
  • reference and metadata travel with every session and webhook, never shown to the payer
  • Signed webhooks with retries, so a bot can trust what it receives
  • Test mode with simulated payments to build the bot flow first

Not supported

  • LayerHop doesn't add members to groups or channels; your bot does that on the webhook
  • Payment happens in the member's wallet on layerhop.com, not inside the Telegram chat, and Telegram Stars aren't accepted
  • @layerhop_bot is LayerHop's swap bot; it doesn't take payments for your community

Fees

Paid by your customer. You receive at least the amount due.

Setup and monthly feeNone
Customer pays in your settlement token, on your chain0.50% LayerHop fee, added on top for the customer. You receive the full amount.
Customer pays with any other token or chain0.20% LayerHop fee plus the route provider's fees, included in the price the customer sees before signing. You receive at least the full amount.
Slippage buffer on routed paymentsThe customer sends a little more so the amount due is guaranteed: usually under 1%, never more than about 3%. Any extra that arrives is yours.
Network gasPaid by the customer
RefundsNo LayerHop fee; you sign them from your own wallet

Example: a 100.00 USDC payment on Base paid in USDC on Base costs the customer 100.50 USDC (0.50 USDC LayerHop fee) and you receive 100.00 USDC. Paid with ETH on Arbitrum instead, the LayerHop part is about 0.20 USDC, with provider fees and the buffer shown in the customer's quote.

Questions

Can I accept crypto in a Telegram group without writing code?

Yes. Create a product in the dashboard with a fixed price and share its /buy link in your group or pin it in your channel. You see every payment in the dashboard. Checking who paid and letting them in is then up to you, or automate it with a bot and webhooks.

How does my bot know who paid?

Create one checkout session per member through the API and set reference (or metadata) to their Telegram user id. The checkout.session.completed webhook carries it back, signed, so your bot knows exactly which member to unlock.

What does it cost to take payments in a Telegram community?

Nothing to set up and no monthly fee. If your customer pays in the exact token and chain you settle in, LayerHop adds a 0.50% fee on top for them (100.50 USDC for a 100.00 USDC payment) and you receive the full 100.00. If they pay with anything else, the route includes LayerHop's 0.20% fee and the provider's fees in the price they see before signing, and you still receive at least the amount due. Network gas is paid by the customer. Refunds carry no LayerHop fee.

Do members need a specific wallet?

Any EVM or Solana wallet works, on desktop or mobile, and they can pay with any token they hold on a chain LayerHop routes. The payment page shows exactly what they send before they sign.

Does LayerHop hold the money?

No. The customer's wallet sends the payment, and the route delivers it straight to your payout address. LayerHop never holds funds or keys, and only marks a payment paid after checking the transfer to your address on the settlement chain.

Try it in test mode first.

Sign in with your wallet, switch on test mode, and run a simulated payment end to end, webhooks included.
