LayerHop Payments · WooCommerce
Accept crypto payments on WooCommerce and WordPress
Install the LayerHop plugin, paste an API key, choose what you're paid in and your payout address, and connect the webhook. Your WooCommerce checkout gets a "Crypto (any token)" payment method; customers pay with any token on any chain, and the order moves to paid automatically once LayerHop has verified the transfer to your wallet. Without WooCommerce, a shortcode or block adds a pay button to any WordPress page.
How to set it up
Three steps, starting in test mode if you like.
- 1
Sign in to the dashboard
Open dashboard.layerhop.com and sign in with your wallet (no email or password). Turn on test mode to try everything with simulated payments first.
- 2
Install and configure the plugin
Upload layerhop.zip in Plugins → Add New Plugin (or use WP-CLI), then under WooCommerce → Settings → Payments paste your API key, your payout chain, token and address.
- 3
Connect the webhook and test
Add the webhook URL the plugin shows in the dashboard under Webhooks, paste the signing secret back, and press Test connection. Place a test order with a test key before going live.
What works today, and what doesn't
So you know before you sign up.
Works today
- Classic and block-based WooCommerce checkout, HPOS compatible
- Redirect to the hosted payment page or a popup on your store
- Orders marked paid automatically; refunds recorded when you refund from the dashboard
- [layerhop_button] shortcode and a block for pay buttons on any WordPress site
Not supported
- The store currency must be USD (or a custom USDC or USDT currency): the order total is charged as the same amount of stablecoin
- Refunds are signed in the LayerHop dashboard from your own wallet, not with WooCommerce's refund button
Fees
Paid by your customer. You receive at least the amount due.
| Setup and monthly fee | None |
|---|---|
| Customer pays in your settlement token, on your chain | 0.50% LayerHop fee, added on top for the customer. You receive the full amount. |
| Customer pays with any other token or chain | 0.20% LayerHop fee plus the route provider's fees, included in the price the customer sees before signing. You receive at least the full amount. |
| Slippage buffer on routed payments | The customer sends a little more so the amount due is guaranteed: usually under 1%, never more than about 3%. Any extra that arrives is yours. |
| Network gas | Paid by the customer |
| Refunds | No LayerHop fee; you sign them from your own wallet |
Example: a 100.00 USDC payment on Base paid in USDC on Base costs the customer 100.50 USDC (0.50 USDC LayerHop fee) and you receive 100.00 USDC. Paid with ETH on Arbitrum instead, the LayerHop part is about 0.20 USDC, with provider fees and the buffer shown in the customer's quote.
Questions
How do I accept crypto on WooCommerce?
Install the free LayerHop plugin, add your API key, payout chain and address under WooCommerce → Settings → Payments, and connect the webhook. A "Crypto (any token)" method appears at checkout, and paid orders are completed automatically.
Which store currencies work?
USD, or a custom USDC or USDT currency. The order total is charged as the same amount of USDC or USDT; other store currencies hide the payment method and show an admin notice.
What does it cost to accept crypto on WooCommerce?
Nothing to set up and no monthly fee. If your customer pays in the exact token and chain you settle in, LayerHop adds a 0.50% fee on top for them (100.50 USDC for a 100.00 USDC payment) and you receive the full 100.00. If they pay with anything else, the route includes LayerHop's 0.20% fee and the provider's fees in the price they see before signing, and you still receive at least the amount due. Network gas is paid by the customer. Refunds carry no LayerHop fee.
What are the requirements?
WordPress 6.2 or newer, PHP 7.4 or newer and WooCommerce 7.6 or newer for the payment method. The plugin is open source under GPL-2.0-or-later.
What if a webhook is missed?
The thank-you page also asks LayerHop for the payment status every few seconds, and each order has a Check payment status now button. All paths run the same checks, and an order is only marked paid once.
Does LayerHop hold the money?
No. The customer's wallet sends the payment, and the route delivers it straight to your payout address. LayerHop never holds funds or keys, and only marks a payment paid after checking the transfer to your address on the settlement chain.
